Quick review - Soap & Glory + Lush!

I've never been mad into skin care or hair care. I always just used whatever shampoo was in the bathroom and didn't bother with conditioner. I also never really bothered with exfoliater or moisturiser or anything to make my skin feel lovely before. This is changing at lightning speed lately! Anytime I have money I always go into Boots or Superdrug or anywhere I know will sell something nice and I search the shelves for anything within my price range!
I bought Flake Away by Soap & Glory , which I mentioned in my last blog post which you can find here. I've used it about three times from then and the amount hasn't seemed to decrease at all. It really does exfoliate and feels so nice when it's being rubbed in. My skin has a really nice faint smell after I use it too, it's super gorgeous! The packaging is gorgeous too, it's my favourite shade of a coral pink and mmm I just want to eat it!
I was in Dublin yesterday for the very exciting Gay Pride Parade which I found incredible for my first year, I had ten euro to my name after buying my ticket so I went into Lush, I've gone into the shop everytime I went to Dublin so I was deffinitely going to get something after being very pleased with their lovely Each Peach Massage Bar!
I asked a very lovely sales woman to help me out and she explained to me ablout their different hair products and settled with New Hair, a shampoo bar specially made to help stimulate blood flow to the scalp and get hair growing, something I'm dying for as I want my long hair back asap!
Made with bay, clove and cinnamon essential oils, I'm not a big fan of the smell but it feel gorgeous in my hair and it is so easy to use! I just rubbed it in three circles on top on my hair and it lathered up so well, I wasn't expecting that at all! I do love the colour of the bar though and the fact that it is totally enviromentally friendly! It's supposed to last the same amount of time as three bottles of shampoo so I will deffinitely be purchasing that again!
Do you have any skin or haircare products that you love? Tell me!

I WENT SHOPPING!!

Today I went shopping in the "Summer" Sales, the title didn't particularly suit the weather though, it's lashing rain! I'm just back after getting soaked to the skin, and without a coat may I add?!
I left the house with €100 to my name, and trust me, I am the happiest girl in the world, I spent it sooo well!
I went into Topshop first, desperately searching through the racks forjeans, but to no avail, the only ones I liked were the ones I already have! So I looked at the other racks.
I got this really lovely shirt for €15 on sale. I think it's really cool and the material is so comfy, I can't wait to wear it out!
I also seen this for €15, it's super cute and even though it's long sleved it's really light and cool, I like the way it falls and the breast pocket is a really nice touch!
I almost died when I seen vest tops on sale for only €4!! When does Topshop ever do deals like that?? I only got one, because I was planning on buying so much more. I'm not going to post a photo because you cansee straight through to my bra but I think it's really really nice.
This top was only €7  was delighted when I picked it up, I've been dying to get a plain white shirt for ages so I had to get it!
All of that came to €41 but she asked me for my student card (I didn't know they did student discount on sale items?) So I got it for €36.90! Needless to say, I was happy!
Next I went into Villa, tried on countless jeans and still no luck, I did find this gorgeous jumper though, sadly it wasn't on sale but I did get a student discount, I paid €24.25 for this. It's baggy and cosy and has a super cute breast pocket. (I'm obsessed with breasst pockets lately!
With most of my money gone I decided to treat myself! I went into Boots and straight to Soap & Glory and picked up a tub of Flake Away. It smells like angels and hearts and sweet things and smells so yummy! I've heard good reviews about this and I can't wait to start using it!
I also bought myself an eyeshadow by 17, the shade is called "Regal", it's a really pretty midnight blue and I bought a concealer stick from 17 too, I don't think I'll be entirely happy with it though, it's darker than I thought!
I am very happy with today, even though the weather was crap I bought some really nice things!
WHat have you bought this summer?

Colour Blocking - Introducing Colour into Summer 2011!

Something I've been reading about in nearly every fashion blog and arcticle is the introduction of bright colour into Summer through colour blocking. This trend was very popular in the Nineties with bright neons and eye catching patterns. The trend is hot on the catwalk in Spring and Summer of 2011, with bright colours catching your eye wherever you look. I am very excited about this trend, as the best way to welcome Summer is with bright, bold colours, I highly doubt we could get away with it during the Winter months!
The mixture of bright colours may look daunting to a few people but we need to learn to throw the "Are these colours clashing?" question out the window! If you're worried about going all out with your colours you can start small, with a bright nail polish and a clashing belt, and gradually get bigger and bolder with your colour as the weeks pass by, this trend won't be around forever, so why not embrace it and have some fun while it's here?
I'm quite nervous about trying this out myself, as i know it's risky wearing something bright in the dull town that I live it but I'll get the clouds out of my head soon and start living, the next time I'll be shopping I'll be headed straight towards the colours. I'm excited to pair colours together, experimenting and mixing and mismatching my make-up to suit it.
I'm so happy with how far the trend has come from last Summer, the contrast is so large.
In 2010 we had dulled neautrals and floral prints, the bright colours were minimal and paired with a dull colour:

In 2011 we have bright, brilliant colours, matched and mismatched to perfection:

My Festival Fashion Essentials!

I'm going to a music festival during the Summer, Oxegen which I've never been to before. I've heard both good and bad things, so I'm going to write about my -must haves- to bring with me for the four days I'll be away. Hopefully it will be less of a nightmare than I've been told it is.
The weather is supposed to be atrocious every year so I highly doubt flipflops would be an option, instead I'll be bringing my pair of black leather Dr. Martens. These boots never fail to amaze me and can keep out any form of rain or snow, I'll be over the moon to have dry feet, as damp feet become unbelievably sore and irritating, that's the last thing I want for four days away!
Denim shorts are deffinitely a must have for Oxegen for me, they're comfertable and stylish, I find jeans to be annoying because I always have to pull them up, even if they fit me perfectly, I don't have this problem with shorts, be them high waisted or low waisted. They can be teamed with tights or long socks and still look summery, even if the weather is awful.
A nice summer dress will look really good paired with boots or wellies, whichever you're bringing so I think this is a deffinite yes. They can by found in any shop, and quite cheap too, I got a lovely black strapless one for €15 in New Look so there's no excuse for not having one!!
A few nice vest tops can be put with my shorts, Primark are seling really nice ones for €4 at the moment so I'll be down there really soon!
If the weather is to be as predicted I'll deffinitely be bringing a giant, long coat with a hood to keep me reletively dry during the weekend. They look wicked left open with a dress underneath or a shirt and some shorts.
With these items even if you're covered fully in mud you will have no excuse not to look brilliant this Festival season.

Product Review - Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation.

I bought this product with low expectations, and it lived up to them perfectly, I bought it for under €13 so I wasn't expecting much. It was difficult to find  nice shade too, as there was only about four to choose from so I went for the palest, as usual, "100, IVORY" not knowing what I was really going to get. I'm not a fan of trying samples on my face, for obvious reasons and I couldn't tell what would suit me from rubbling it on my hand. I took a chance, thankfully it was a good match with my skin tone.
When I got home I was so happy to have a new foundation as my last one had just run out and all I had was powder, I've gone through phases of wearing just powder and they're not ones I'd like to relive.
To my distaste I started using it to notice it was very runny and thin, it wouldn't go on my face well and once I had covered my face it looked as if I hadn't applied anything. It left my face shiny and oily looking, not something I'm a complete fan of, and if I was to use it alone I would have thrown it out straight away. My freakles and blemishes were very visable and I felt as if I had no coverage when using it.
A good thing about this product is that you cannot look caked in make-up when wearing it and 'foundation lips' are become non-existant. I will continue to use this until I buy another foundation. This is deffinitely going on my "products i regret buying" list.

Leather Shorts, Yay or Nay?

I've always been a huge fan of leather shorts but never been bold enough to wear them. They are worn by models and fashionista everywhere and do look very fashionable when worn with the right accessories. Despite leather being extremely warm I've only seen these worn in the summer, as not that many people wear shorts during the winter. I don't see them as being the most comfertable item of clothing but I'm going to live by the saying "don't know it 'til you've tried it". I hope to one day buy a nice pair of shorts because they're very stylish and chic, I'd probably put them with my black Dr. Martens and a pale vest top and gold chain. These shorts are deffinitely a "yay" for me.
